About Hope
Hope began teaching swim in June 2002 and has been working with children for as long as she can remember. Starting as a certified babysitter in 1997, she went on to teach Sunday school and became a camp counselor and education guide for Marine World (now Six Flags located in Vallejo, California). Once she was old enough to become a lifeguard and swim instructor trained by the American Red Cross she began working for the City of Benicia at the James Lemos Pool. There she taught swim to infants, children, and adults, including those with special needs for five years in the American Red Cross method. In 2003 she relocated to Orange County for college while going to the bay area during summers to continue teaching swim. She attended the University of California: Irvine where she studied Dance and met her husband Greg. Once her residence in Orange County remained permanent she began teaching private swim lessons. After graduating in 2007 and getting married in 2008, Hope began coursework at California State University Long Beach to achieve her multiple subject teaching credential in order to become an elementary school teacher. In November of 2009 she and Greg were excited to introduce a beautiful and healthy baby boy into the world.
